⚠️ Why does Windows show a security warning?

This is normal for new software! EZPC is not code-signed because code signing certificates cost $100-400/year. Since this is a free, open-source project, we haven't purchased one yet.

Here's why EZPC is safe:

✅ Open source: All code is viewable on GitHub
✅ Read-only access: EZPC only reads system information, never modifies anything
✅ No network access: Works 100% offline (except when you click links)
✅ No automatic installations: You control all updates manually
✅ Transparent: You can inspect the code yourself or have a developer review it

🖥️ What operating systems are supported?

EZPC is designed for Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). It may work on Windows 8.1, but this is not officially supported. Mac and Linux are not supported.

💰 Is EZPC really free?

Yes! EZPC is completely free and open source under the MIT License. No ads, no tracking, no premium version. The source code is available on GitHub for anyone to review, use, or modify.

🔒 Does EZPC collect my data?

No. EZPC does not collect, store, or transmit any of your system information. Everything stays on your computer. The app works 100% offline.

⚙️ Will EZPC automatically update my drivers?

No. EZPC never automatically installs or modifies anything. It only provides information and links to official manufacturer websites. You maintain full control over all updates.

🛠️ Do I need to install .NET or other runtimes?

No! EZPC is a self-contained application. Everything you need is included in the installer. Just download and run.

💻 What hardware does EZPC support?

EZPC supports all modern Intel and AMD CPUs, NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel Arc GPUs, and major motherboard manufacturers (ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, ASRock, and others).
